It seems maybe disingenuous to post a sleek, white minimal trend when the granddaddy of them all, Calvin Klein, has yet to show for Spring – but when a look infiltrates so many runways in one season so far it must be called out.

Whether in crisp suiting, long dresses, semi sheer or belted, designers want you to take your whites without the embellishment, french dots, sequins or embroidery.
It's not about a gypsy dress or anything even hinting at bridal, according to the likes of Altuzarra, Wang, Prabal Gurung, Reed Krakoff and many more – it's a thoroughly modern take on white that calls Carolyn Bessette, that legend of '90s minimal cool, to mind.

Report from SS11

70s Tones Gone Modern For Spring 2011:

Diane Von Furstenberg SS11

Rag & Bone SS11

Peter Som SS11

Elise Overland SS11

Vena Cava SS11

ADAM SS11

A Detacher SS11

Prabal Gurung SS11

When I think Spring my mind goes to airy pastels, bold tones and pretty hues. But there's nothing I heart more than a surprise and a look that elicits a head tilt. Designers from Prabal Gurung to Peter Som and Rag & Bone sought out the funky side of the rainbow, with muted oranges, turquoises, and yellows paired unexpectedly together or with khaki, beige and tan. As in Diane von Fursenberg opted for color solids. I'm willing to call it a movement – a modern look at 70s tones that feels super new. Does it elicit the want to shop because that's the trick here kids.

GO BOLD WITH STRONG COLORS!!!

What jacket to wear this winter?

*Camel coat is making its comeback. Last winter it was timidly presented by some designers and worn by celebrities including Alexa Chung but a camel coat had to wait
until winter 2011 to make a real statement. As seen in Celine.

*Cape is also very fashionable in winter 2011. It’s a lot of fun for me because I would always associate it with a Red Riding Hood. But it doesn’t have to be red, though. The more blanket-like a cape is, the better. As seen in 3.1 Phillip Lim.

*Hoodie is a statement coat accessory that designers suggest to wear this winter. On your head, instead of a cap. As seen in Michael Kors.

*Fur is always hot in winter. PETA fanatics, kill me or not but it is an eternal truth. Not only because Michael Kors’ shredded silver-fox anorak was something to die for but just because fur keeps your body…warm!

My Muse

Doutzen Kroes: the dutch model born January 23, 1985 was destined to be a supermodel, with her "real" body, and sunkissed skin. She is a positive spirit and so beautiful. That´s a role model for everyone. And models you should be smiling and having fun like Doutzen. She is the perfect angel at Victoria's Secret.

ps. tell me your muse?

Sweden Street Style

Hej! I´m a Swedish speaking Finn. And can proudly say that you swedes girl have a sense of good style. You are fierce and your looks are always pot together. You girls are one of my inspiration source and maybe YOU my dear reader like it to?

Filippa is one of those super-dooper multi-taskers girls who never fail to make me jealous: model, stylist and fashion editor at Radar Magazine she also had on the most envy-inducing shoes: those gorgeous Acne Atacoma black wedge-heeled ankle boots with the little silver insert running along the bottom.

Love the socks, and how she manages to be so cosy.

The sweetest look and the colors go so well together...she can do it.

Still not convinced that over the knee boots can succeed as an easy and effortless day-time look? Blogger Caroline may change your mind. She works the boots-over-skinny-jeans look in the simplest of ways, pairing them with a white tank and black leather biker jacket.
