I picked my three favorite looks from the Balenciaga Fall Ready-to-Wear Collection 2010. Geometric, collaged, stiff yet rounded, and composed of zones of matte and shine, with cashmere dimpled to look like industrial foam and fur shaved into quilting, the components of the first coats alone were difficult enough to absorb at a glance. Then there were the shoes: block-heeled loafers and brogues with the soles encased in chunks of plastic.
Look 1: Soft colour lace to school
Miranda Kerr (IMG)
Look 2: Pastelles at home
Siri Tollerød (MARILYN)
Look 3: Essential to all fashionistas
Elsa Sylvan (VIVA)
Details from the collection:
Nicolas Ghesquière the master behind these all things, the colour combo.Cosmonauts and seventies Formica. Packaging and food boxes. Synthetic foam and plywood. Sleeping bags and biscuits. "I was working on something domestic. Casual things mixed with classic. And a kind of rigidity," said Nicolas Ghesquière
